The Department of EEE in MITS provides the knowledge, which is required in the field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering through its highly qualified faculty members and excellent lab facilities. All the experiments according to BPUT syllabus are conducted through its well-equipped laboratories. The staff members of this department take part in Seminars, symposium and workshops to update and enhance their knowledge. The college provides frequent industrial tours ad study tours to enhance their knowledge in the field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
Laboratories:
Basic Electrical Engineering Lab:
The aim is to impart knowledge about basis of electrical engineering. The BEE lab is well equipped with very good and accurate equipments. The BVEE lab conducts all experiments as suggested by BPUT. The BEE lab equipped with Thevenin’s & Norton’s Thorems Kit, D.C.Motors, D.C.Generators, Lamp Loads and Fluorescent tube experiment kit and RLC Circuits.
Network Devices Lab:
The aim is to give basics about electrical networks. This lab is well equipped with good quality of instruments to conduct experiment prescribed by BPUT. The various equipments are: Network Theorems Kit for verifying network theorem, Filter circuits to determine its Characteristics, transformers for determination of mutual flux; single tune and double tuned circuits.
Control and Instrumentation Lab:
Aim is to acknowledge the students how control system and instrumentation is applied practically. This lab equipped with D.C.Servomotor control system, Universal Impedance Bridge, D.C.Motor Position Control, LVDT Transducers, Jtyre Thermocouple, Temperature measurement Transducers, Strain Gauge, Torque Transducers.
Electrical Machine Lab:
Being Electrical Engineering the Machine Lab finds the most important place among other labs. Through this lab, the students are trained for manufacturing companies and for Power stations. So our machine lab. is well equipped with required equipments to fulfill the demands of manufacturing companies and power stations. This laboratory conducts following experiments with the corresponding devices. O.C. & S.C. and Back test of transformers to perform parallel operation single phase transformers; synchronization of alternators.
This lab equipped with D.C. Motor, D.C. Generator, Synchronization panel, three phase IM, 1- f & 3- f transformers.
Power Electronics Lab:
Power Electronics is modern technology, which is used in industries and also in power stations. This lab is equipped with 3-f SCR power circuits, 3-f and 1-f bridge converters, Thyristor forced commutation trainer kit, RRI and UJT firing module, Parallel and series inverters, Chopper circuits.
